Who receives these messages
Messages on this program are sent to the cellular SwitchBox controller units that CitroTech installs at customer properties as part of a CitroSafe fire-suppression system. Each recipient number is a SIM inside a piece of fire-suppression equipment owned by the CitroTech customer. Personal handsets do not receive messages on this program.
Why they are sent
- Scheduled equipment health checks that ask the controller for cellular signal strength and outlet state, so CitroTech can confirm the system is online.
- Commands that switch a controller's outlets on or off to activate or shut down the property's fire-suppression system, sent only after an authenticated operator or property owner authorizes that specific action in CitroTech Control.
The controller replies with a status acknowledgment, which is recorded in the system audit log. No marketing or promotional messages are sent on this program.
How consent is collected
Consent is collected in writing, in person, from the property owner or authorized representative before the controller is activated. There is no website sign-up form and no text-to-join keyword. The following clause appears in the CitroTech System Service Agreement and is read aloud by the installer at activation:
“I authorize CitroTech, Inc. to send automated SMS text messages to the cellular fire-suppression controller(s) installed at my property, for the purpose of monitoring and operating my fire-suppression system. These messages are sent to the equipment, not to my personal phone. Message frequency varies with system activity and scheduled equipment health checks. Message and data rates may apply. CitroTech will not sell or share these numbers, or this consent, with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Reply STOP to any message to stop messages to that controller, or HELP for help. Signing up for these messages is not a condition of purchasing any CitroTech product or service; a customer who declines may still purchase and use CitroTech products and operate the controller manually on site.”
A controller's number is entered into CitroTech Control only after that agreement is signed. CitroTech removes a controller from the program at any time on request, which stops all messages to it.
Opt-out and help
STOP (also CANCEL, QUIT, OPTOUT, UNSUBSCRIBE, STOPALL, REVOKE, END) stops all messages to that number. HELP or INFO returns program and contact details. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies.
Privacy
